Policies Regarding Zokawa’s Culture
Arriving for Classes
-
Arrive 5-10 minutes early to check-in and settle in for your practice. When class begins our doors close and late arrivals will not be permitted to enter class. Please see more on our “Late Arrival Policy” below.
-
Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in.
-
Remove shoes as soon as you enter the props space, before entering the lounge area and studio space. No shoes are permitted in the studio.
-
Restrooms are available and can be used as changing space.
-
We encourage students to bring water. We also have bottled water available for students.
-
New students must sign our waiver prior to their first class. This is available on our website and in person at the studio.
Cellphones + Personal Belongings
Please leave all personal belongings (including your cellphone) in the cubbies in the props room. Our doors are locked during class times whenever a team member is not present in the lobby. You agree that we are not responsible for the loss or damage of any personal property you bring or leave with Zokawa.
-
To maintain a peaceful and distraction-free environment, we ask that all phones be left in the cubbies in the props room. Enjoy your time on the mat, unplugged!
-
If you are on-call or a caretaker and must keep your phone with you, we understand—just please step out of the studio to use it.
-
Photos and videos are welcome before or after class, but no active phone use during class.
-
Please silence all devices when you arrive. Phone ringing in the lobby can also be distracting for students enjoying classes or services.
-
Studio Space + Props Policies
-
Mat locations are first come, first serve. If you have a preferred spot, we recommend arriving early.
-
You are welcome to bring your own mat and props; we also have the supplies you will need!
-
Please wipe and return all props neatly to their storage area after class and leave our yoga home tidy for the next class.
Schedule Changes
-
In the case of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances causing an unexpected change to the schedule, the website will be updated immediately and we will post information on our FaceBook page. We also suggest you set up a buddy-system with someone who regularly attends the same class(es) that you attend to ensure clarity in such cases.
Late Arrival Policy
Doors will close when class begins and will be locked to secure students’ belongings. Please arrive before class begins.
Early Departure Policy
To maintain a peaceful class experience for all students, we ask that anyone needing to leave class early exit before Savasana begins. This protects the integrity of the closing rest and minimizes disruptions for others.
If you anticipate needing to leave early, please place your mat near the studio entrance and inform your teacher before class begins.
Refund Policy
All sales are final unless otherwise stated in the description.
Membership Policies and Agreements
When you become a member at Zokawa, you enter a membership agreement. This agreement will remain in effect according to the terms you agreed to unless you cancel it following the instructions below. Memberships require a credit or debit card stored on your secure account. Important membership terms are highlighted below. Please view our current Membership Agreement for complete terms.

Membership Cancellation Policy
To cancel your membership and autopay please email zokawamuncie@gmail.com with a 30 days notice prior to your next autopay. Refunds will not be issued for membership payments that were not canceled with 30 days notice.
Based on the terms of your membership agreement you may be charged a cancellation fee if you are cancelling before the end of your term. The one-time cancellation option is 50% of the remaining value of your membership agreement.
Membership Freeze
A member may temporarily suspend their membership by written request to zokawamuncie@gmail.com at least 7 days before their next scheduled billing date. A member may freeze their membership for up to 3 months. We do not prorate membership dues. Once the freeze ends, the membership will continue at the same rate and payments will commence to the end of your time commitment.
Member Access
Membership access applies only to regularly scheduled classes. Special events, workshops, teacher training and series require additional payment. Your membership dues are based on a set monthly fee and will not be adjusted or refunded based on your actual attendance of Zokawa classes.

Thank you for your help in keeping the culture at
Zokawa relaxing and welcoming.
